10 Lifestyle habits I re-introduced whilst living in Bali.

Health isn’t obtained through the 6-week challenges, the 24-hour fasts, or the 3-day juice cleanses; they can surely get you started, but ultimately, leading a healthful life comes down to the little things you do EVERY DAY.

After traveling for 3 months with no routine, lots of spontaneity, and just going with the flow, I was excited to get to Bali and be in one place for a month, to find a little bit of normalcy once again.

Here are 10 simple habits I’ve reintroduced:

  1. Morning Sunlight Exposure: supports regulating the body's circadian rhythm

  2. Daily Yoga (sadhana): to nourish the nervous system

  3. Protein-based breakfast: to optimize energy levels throughout the day and avoid the 3pm slump

  4. Strength Training: regular resistance training for mitochondrial health and maintaining healthy muscle mass.

  5. Maintaining good hydration: important for all bodily functioning, especially important when training and also living in warmer climates

  6. Embracing Local Food: a must whilst traveling; you only live once!!!

  7. Continuously learning time for exploration: continue to stimulate the brain and maintain cognitive function.

  8. Workshops and self-care practices: continuing to be inspired.

  9. Making my favorite meals: home cooking is a great way to connect back with your body; enjoy the process of preparing food itself prepares the body for digesting it too!!

  10. Time for rest: to grow and thrive, the body needs rest.

I share these in the hope that they may inspire you to, too, find the little things you can introduce into your day-to-day to take care of you.
